Flip text backwards by character, word or line — for puzzles, mirror-text designs, or just checking what your name looks like backwards.

How to use the text reverser

Type or paste your text, then pick a reversal mode. "Reverse characters" flips the entire string back to front, letter by letter — the classic palindrome-checking view. "Reverse word order" keeps each word intact but flips their sequence. "Mirror each word" reverses the letters inside every word individually while leaving word order alone. "Reverse line order" flips the order of lines in a multi-line block without touching the text within each line.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between "reverse characters" and "mirror each word"?

"Reverse characters" reverses the entire input as one long string, so word order also flips. "Mirror each word" only reverses the letters within each individual word, keeping the words in their original left-to-right order.

Does reversing text affect punctuation?

Punctuation characters are treated the same as letters in "reverse characters" mode, so they move along with the surrounding text. In word-based modes, punctuation attached to a word travels with that word.

Can I reverse just one line out of many?

Select and copy just that line into the box on its own, reverse it, then paste it back — the tool always processes the full contents of the box.
